Who killed Haren Pandya, ask Congress MPs

Congress MPs from Gujarat responded to BJP MPs’ speeches on the Lokayukta issue by showing photographs in the Lok Sabha of the late Haren Pandya and his family members.

Mukesh Gadhvi, Congress MP from Banaskantha, told DNA over phone that when house started at 11am, BJP MPs began demanding a discussion on the appointment of Lok Ayukta but they opposed them.

“I gave the actual facts to the house about the Lokayukta’s appointment. After that we showed the photographs of Haren Pandya and his family members and demanded justice for them. I said Pandya was killed during the NDA regime and the investigation was done by the CBI at the time,” Gadhvi said.

Jagdish Thakor, Congress MP from Patan, said that when they raised Haren Pandya’s photographs, they were given time to speak on the issue as LK Advani had been allowed to speak on the appointment of Lok Ayukta.    

"I said that the Gujarat high court had criticised the CBI for not investigating the case in the right direction. Pandya's father, Viththalbhai, had told Advani when he had gone to Pandya's home to pay homage to the slain leader that there was devil's rule in the state. So I asked the House, who are these devils who killed Haren Pandya?" Thakor told DNA over the phone from Delhi.
