Zero tolerance for sexual exploitation of girls in schools, says Punjab govt

The Punjab government has issued guidelines and adopted a zero tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation or harassment of girl child in schools in the state.

Director general of school education Krishan Kumar has sent letter to all heads of schools, including district education officers, and asked them to report matters of sexual abuse immediately to the nearest police station.

The letter cited that the state government wanted that school heads take remedial steps immediately in their schools.
