Cyclonic development on Rajasthan and Gujarat spurred heavy rainfall in several parts of the state disrupting the normal life in various areas. The Kotari region of Bhilwara has recorded more than 150mm of rainfall over the past two days, while districts of Bharatpur, Chittorgarh and Jhawlawar have recorded above 110 mm of rain during the period. Heavy showers of rainfall occured in the Western districts and more than 70 mm rainfall was recorded in districts of Barmer, Jalore and Jodhpur.

The MeT department has issued warning of very heavy rainfall to occur at isolated places in East Rajasthan, while heavy rain is likely to occur in several parts across the state on Saturday. State capital Jaipur is expected to receive moderate rains accompanied with thunder. The weather is expected to stay pleasant as temperature is expected to remain between 26 to 32 degree Celsius during the day. Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 31.6 degree Celsius on Friday which was three degree below the average temperature.

Rajasthan recorded less than average rainfall till last week, however, the good rainfall over the last few days has increased the rainfall across the state. The good rains though have spelled trouble in several areas as overflow of seasonal rivers and culverts disrupted connection between several areas.

The traffic on overbridge at Parvati river near Khatoli Kota was restricted for nearly 12 hours as water level in the river rose above the danger mark.

In other areas people were seen struggling to make their way through water covered roads. Residents of these areas had a little respite from persistent showers on Friday afternoon, however, by the evening rains resumed heavily in several parts of the state.
