From supermodel to spirituality coach

Supermodel of the 70s and 80s, Nandinii Sen has returned to Mumbai to take up her role as soul coach, transformational therapist and past life ‘regressionist’ after having lived for many years in Bangalore.

Nandini who will be conducting courses in spiritual healing and meditation for Mumbaikars in the coming months says, “My spiritual healing which is based on the principles of Tibetan Buddhism and Advaita aims to help people find their true selves and feel wonderful about life and living.”

Nandinii’s brand of spirituality, marketed as the ‘Nandinii Sen Way’ consists of a number of workshops on guided meditation, chakra balancing, as well as coaching people to improve their professional and personal life situations through spiritual growth. 

“There are three basic elements to the workshops that I do and they are using chants, positive affirmations, prayer and meditation to connect people with the spiritual side of their lives,” she says. “Many of my courses are one-on-one sessions, customised according to the individual needs that different people have. I just have to sit in front of a client and interact a bit to know which method will work for them.”

Nandinii who was an Art of Living teacher for 10 years has moved on with her life. “While I am no longer with the Art of Living, it was a fantastic experience while it lasted. I am so grateful that it brought me back to my roots,” she says. However, today her interests centre around a combination of spiritual disciplines including Denise Linn’s life coaching techniques, which she says is the result of her liberal upbringing with a Christian father and a Hindu mother.

Nandinii’s first Mumbai workshop after seven years spent away from the city will be ‘The Goddess Within’, a training programme for women in several modules between end-April and the first week of May. It will have different sorts of meditation and visualisation techniques as well as Jungian psychoanalytic therapies according to different needs.

“I’ve divided the course into modules lasting a day each and women can pick whichever module they’re best suited for,” she says. Nandinii expects no more than seven to nine ladies in each class which is in keeping with her pursuit of individual attention for each client.

She’s also glad to be back in Mumbai. “I returned in late March and I’ve missed this city badly during my years away. I longed for the buzz and the excitement,” she says, planning to make up for lost time.
