Fashion brand Remanika believes in building youth for the future. "We're hoping that Tuto, our guardian angel owl-mascot will guide all souls who have lost their way in the wilderness called life and that his wisdom, austerity and vision will help people get back on the wondrous road of happiness and prosperity," says Mrs Seema Kakkar, MD of Remanika.

Remanika's new collection ‘Open Road’ is dedicated specifically to the youth and the plethora of choices available to them. The idea behind the collection is — "Be it drugs, greed, alcoholism, ambition, laxity, or anything else; steer clear of getting trapped in the whirlpool of overabundance and over-indulgence." Remanika espouses that life is not predictable, living is about the journey and not the destination, and that one needs a personal definition of success free from the influences of finances and prospects of fame. "As a generation, we need to get back to focusing on individuality and self construction rather than mass production.

Hitting the road is less about logging miles on your odometer, and more about changing the way you look at the world, being open to opportunities you wouldn't normally."

On this open road, they've given flight to Tuto (Greek for ‘owl’). Known for their wisdom and austerity, the wakefulness of owls during the nights (or, metaphorically speaking, during the difficult phases in life) adds to their aura of wisdom.

The ‘Open Road’ collection will be followed by the ‘Mea Culpa’ and ‘Hunky Dory’ collections. Says Seema. "The literal translation of mea culpa is an acknowledgement of one's faults and mistakes. For every person who has veered off track, the healing process begins only after self introspection and admittance of where one has erred. Once you identify that, you begin to tackle it with the help of family and friends or any other person who could be termed as guardian angel."
