Fashion designer Rina Dhaka has been a part and parcel of the Indian fashion scene for the past 15 years. And tomorrow the Delhi based designer is presenting a brand new ethnic wear collection catering to Indian wear that is a major part of her clientele. She wants to introduce a fresh line that will be a trend in itself.

Talking about her collection, Rina says, “I was tired of the voluminous looks that were seen around for sometime. I worked on this new line so as to coincide it with the demand for the festive season. So I have worked on a tapered look, which is sexy and wearable. It has more simplified work. I have used handwork, muted silvers and shades of pink. It is a crispy, festive cocktail wear line.” The designer adds that she will be showcasing this brand new line at the Lakme Fashion Week and is already showcasing her autumn 2011 Western line at an ongoing fashion tour.

Indian wear is the biggest market in India. “I get most of my clients for the ethnic lines that I do. Indian wear has a need based market. In festive season business multiplies. Isn’t it is stupid to wear western garbs on a festive occasion? As far as trends are concerned I feel I am a trend setter in my own space. My designs are a mod version of ethnic wear. Besides, I don’t think we can have trend forecast for Indian wear like Western wear.”
