LFW, day 3: Fashion grapevine

On Day 3 of LFW for the last show our khabru spotted actor Aditya Roy Kapoor around the main show area before Sabyasachi’s show. He was constantly talking on the cellphone. Though the star might be a  fashion enthusiast or might be a friend of the designer or one of the models in the show, as per khabru, many gossipmongers were overheard connecting the actor’s presence with Miss Balan who is rumoured to be dating Aditya’s elder brother biz honcho Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Aditya’s presence at Vidya’s fave designer Sabyasachi’s show was too much of a co-incidence, wot say?

Spotted!
Fashion and celebrities can’t stay away from each other for too long. Guess that is the reason the celebrity count at the on-going fashion week is steadily going up. There were many celebrity showstoppers too on Day 3. Celebs like Shefali Shah who walked for Debarun, and mother –daughter duo Hema Malini and Esha Deol who walked in festive ethnic wear by Shymal-Bhumika. The audience hooted and clapped as Dream girl Hema Malini walked the ramp with ease. Khabru informs that when Esha Deol who opened the show walked, she kept tripping every few steps and looked as if she were trembling. And when Esha and Hema walked to take a bow Esha held onto her mom’s arm, so nasty hotties were overheard saying that Esha feared that she will either trip or tumble. Later in the evening for Pria K Puri’s show, there were Pooja Bedi, Reshma Merchant, Rashmi Nigam, Rohit Bal, Wendell Rodricks. At the last show of the day, which was by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, a whole lot of guests came in to cheer. There was of course actor Vidya Balan in a toned avatar donning a Sabya saree. Followed by Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Suchitra Pillai,  Shraddha Kapoor, R Balki amongst others. On the whole Day 3  was buzzing more than the last two days.

Anna storm hits the fashion circle!
First designer duo Parvesh-Jai flaunted a picture of social activist Anna Hazare on their sleeves in their show. Then later, actor Shabana Azmi who came in as a guest for designer Anita Dongre’s show was heard talking on the same topic to many other guests. But on Day 3 of LFW, a South Mumbai business man, before designers Debarun and Shyamal-Bhumika’s show, started distributing caps with ‘I am Anna Hazare’ to all present at the venue. As per khabru’s information though some accepted them and wore the caps, others weren’t keen. Apparently the problem started when he tried to give caps to some firang models who weren’t really interested in wearing them.

Volunteers apparently had to intervene to sort out the matter. However the businessman wasn’t done yet. The moment he got in the main show area, he started distributing the caps again to all the guests coming to watch the show and also clicked snaps with them. But things got out of hand when a few others were apparently ruffled by his behaviour saying that fashion week wasn’t meant for such things. The volunteers yet again had to intervene and this time they took away the bag containing caps and asked the businessman to collect it post the show. After this incident all the guests sporting the caps started taking off their caps. Onlookers said that they might be doing this because they felt that the ones wearing the caps too would be asked to leave the show area.

Kiddies outbreak 
Seems like not fashion itself, but kids on ramp is the biggest trend this season. Earlier, designer Payal Singhal had two little girls walk for her collection.  Friday night, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee too had five kids walk the ramp donning his latest collection. Two kids seemed around the age group of 5-8 and the others between 8-12 years. In fact one of the kids looked so frightened that as he was walked the ramp he held on to his kurta tightly, hardly looking up at the flashing lenses. Many on the front rows could see the fear and stress the kids felt as they tried to match their adult partners. In fact post the show khabru overheard many guests say that soon fashion weeks would be allowing kids to watch the shows (some weeks do not allow kids below 12) and also have them perform jigs like their adult counterparts. Guess it’s time for parents, designers and organisers of fashion weeks to seriously think this one over.
