Purab Kohli, whose new show Life Mein Ek Baar on Fox Traveller just hit the television screens, is quite a quirky traveler if you ask.  In Bangalore recently to promote the show, he lets After Hrs take a peek into the wanderlust in him…

What’s your favourite place you’ve been to and why?
Meghalaya! I went there while shooting for the show and it was breathtaking. If you want to know why, you’ll just have to watch the show.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve done on a trip?
That would definitely have to be doing back flips out of an airplane, from 13,000ft up in the air.

What is the worst experience you’ve had when travelling?
It has probably got to be losing your luggage. It’s just really frustrating. I was stuck in Knoxville once, just waiting for my bags to come, which were two days late.

Is there something you didn’t do on a trip and regretted it later?
Something I regretted for a while was passing up the opportunity of sky diving with my friend Farhan (Akhtar), who was headed to Barcelona, because I was short on time and heading for a holiday with my family in Capri. When I returned from that trip, I kept beating myself up for not doing it. But I made it a point to do that on the show and it was fantastic.

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever eaten while travelling?
It’s something I ate while shooting for the show, in Thailand. I’m not going to tell you what, because you’ll see it on the show. All I will say is that it was a bunch of creepy-crawlies.

Best thing you’ve ever eaten?
Mum’s ice cream! I’m a big ice cream fan and I think my mother makes the most delicious ice cream in the whole world. I could sit and eat a whole tub till I got sick.

Most unusual person you’ve met while travelling?
Apart from these three guys, who I will never forget, I met this reporter in Ladakh, who now I’m in touch with, who was covering the whole Naxal issue. He’s a mountain climber now and is probably one of the most interesting people I have ever met.

The one thing you absolutely cannot travel without?
I can travel without absolutely anything actually. I guess the only one thing you need is your credit card. You can buy everything else!

If you could choose any three celebrities in the world, dead or alive, apart from Arun, Jupiter and Bhaskara, that you’d like to do a similar trip with, who would they be and why?
That’s simple! I’d take Michelle Pfeiffer because she’s smoking hot. I’d also Michael Jackson (if I could) because I was a big fan from the time I was a kid and think he truly is the king of pop. And lastly, I’d take Bhagat Singh. Based on all the movies on him and the stuff I’ve read, he is another person I really admire. So yeah, this would be my highly unusual and interesting group!
