Food review: Mandarin magic in Bangalore

The craving for Indian Chinese is almost never ending. You might suddenly just feel the need to indulge in some deep fried hakka noodles or a bowl of spicy Schezwan fried rice. And Bangalore Mandarin helps you do just that!

Located at Indiranagar, almost at the junction of CMH and Double Road, it’s a no-fuss place. The decor is quaint and simple, with lamps with Chinese or Mandarin written dangling from the ceiling and mirrors on one side of the wall. There are tiny chimes too, fixed over the entrance, which ring in an entry and exit, with charming tinkling sounds.

The menu at Bangalore Mandarin offers the usual Chinese favourites with variations in meat that range from chicken to pork, fish and prawns.

Food is very reasonably priced and a meal for a duo, with two main course dishes and one side can be had for Rs400. What’s another great thing is that your order arrives quickly, which is a boon, because waiting for food to come, while others are gulping theirs down on nearby tables can be a torture, especially when  ravenous.

Another thing that works for Bangalore Mandarin, are the portions, which are great! So, in case you have big group heading out to eat, it will definitely leave no hungry souls. The restaurant also delivers around the area, which works well, incase you are ordering in for a house party too! However, a word of caution, for those who love their drinks and are heading to the place.

The restaurant does not serve alcohol (though it is located near a fancy wine store). Parking can also be a pain, because of the bustling Double Road area. Keep a look out for a space in one of the near by lanes, incase you are driving down to the Bangalore Mandarin.
