Idea Cellular, India's fifth-largest cellular operator, reported consolidated quarterly net profit of Rs1.70 billion ($37 million) for its fiscal third quarter ended December.
Net sales for the quarter were at Rs31.36 billion.
Year-ago figures were not immediately available.
A Reuters poll of 12 brokerages had on average expected net profit of Rs1.42 billion on sales of Rs29.32 billion.
