MHADA lottery FAQ: Registration dates, cheapest houses, income classification, area - all you need to know

A total of 10,532 homes in the state will be sold by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) via lottery on August 19.

Here are some of the much-needed information regarding the lottery. 

Lottery for which areas: 

Konkan Housing and Area Development  Board, a wing of MHADA is coming up with a housing lottery of 9018 houses in its jurisdiction. While 1514 homes is being sold in Nagpur division by the Nagpur board. The Konkan board  lottery includes Thane, Virar, Kalyan, Ambernath, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri areas. 

What are the dates for registration? 

Forms will be available registration will begin from July 18. The online registration for the lottery will start on MHADA website from 2 pm of July 18, while it shall be open till midnight of August 8. 

Till when can forms be filled? 

Registered applicants can start filling their application from 2 pm of July 19 till midnight of August 9.

How many houses are available under PMAY? 

Of the total 9018 Konkan board homes, 3937 are under the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY).

How many houses are there under EWS category?

The PMAY homes are located in Shirdone (Kalyan) where there are 1905 homes and in Khoni (Kalyan) where 2032 homes have been kept, Economically Weaker Sections. Mumbai Metropolitan 

Region area residents without a home anywhere in India are only eligible to apply for these homes and the family income has been capped at Rs 3 lakh per annum. For Economically Weaker Section (EWS), there are 4455 homes located in Mira Road, Blakum (Thane), Shirdone (Kalyan), Khoni (Kalyan). Antarli (Kalyan), Khoni Hedutane (Kalyan), Kole (Kalyan), and Umbarli (Ambernath). These include the 3937, PMAY homes.

How many houses are there for Lower Income Group category?

For the Lower Income Group category, there are 4341 homes, and they are located in Mira Road, Kavesar (Thane), Vengural, (Sindhudurg), Virar Bolinj, Khoni (Kalyan). Antarli (Kalyan), Khoni  Hedutane (Kalyan), Kole (Kalyan), and Umbarli (Ambernath).

How many houses are there for Middle Income Group category?

For Middle Income Group (MIG), the number of homes is 215 and they are located in Balkum (Thane), Vengurla (Sindhudurg), Mira Road, Kunwar Bav (Ratnagiri) and Virar Bolinj areas.

How many houses are there for High Income Group category? 

There are only seven homes for the High Income Group (HIG) category and they are located in Mira Road, Vengurla (Sindhudurg) and Kunwar Bav (Ratnagiri). Vijay Lahane, chief officer, Konkan  board confirmed the details.

Maximum monthly income to apply for homes under EWS category? 

The per month salary of a person including that of spouse to be eligible to apply in the EWS category shouldn't be above Rs 25,000.

Maximum monthly income to apply for homes under LIG category? 

The per month salary of a person including that of spouse to be eligible to apply in the EWS category shouldn't be above Rs 50,000.
 
Maximum monthly income to apply for homes under MIG category? 

For MIG, the cut-off income is Rs 75,000 per month. 

What is the criterion for HIG category? 

Person earning above Rs 75,001 can apply for houses under this category. 

EMD to be given per category: 

Along with the application, the applicant also has to pay the earnest money deposit, which for EWS is Rs 5448, for LIG the EMD is 10,448, while the same for MIG and HIG is Rs 15,448 and Rs 

20,448 respectively.

What are the prices of the houses? 

The cheapest house in Konkan board lottery is for Rs 6.18 lakh at Balkum in Thane it is in the EWS category, while the costliest house is for Rs 42.74 in Virar Bolinj it is in the MIG category. The homes in Mira Road for the EWS category are available for Rs 17 lakh, while the HIG homes here are for Rs 21.73 lakh. LIG category homes in Virar Bolinj are available for Rs 24.75 lakh.
