25 new faces in Pune civic committees

More than 25 new faces have found a place in the new committees of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) constituted on Monday.

Sixteen members of the standing committee and 13 members of committees for law, city improvement, women and child and sports, each were elected.

The standing committee, which handles the financial matters, includes NCP’s Vaishali Tambe, Balasaheb Bodkhe, Baburao Chandre, Rohini Chimte, Surekha Kawade and Rekha Tingre. Shrinath Bhimale, Vishnu Harihar and Manisha Ghate of BJP and Sanjay Bhosle of Shiv Sena have been elected.

Congress got all new members in the committee which include Abhijeet Kadam, Sheetal Sawant and Kavita Shivarkar.

Neelam Kulkarni from MNS too is a first timer. Babu Wagaskar and Kishor Shinde are other members of MNS in standing committee.

The law committee comprises Vinayak Hanamgar, Anand Alkunte, Mahendra Pathare, Vikas Dangat, Heena Momin Shafiq of NCP; Dhananjay Jadhav and Smita Vaste of BJP; Prashant Bade of Shiv Sena; Lata Rajguru and Dutta Bahirat of Congress; Rupali Patil Archana Kamble and Priya Gadade of MNS.

Of these, Hanamgar, Alkunte, Pathare, Jadhav, Bahirat, Patil, Kamble and Gadade are first timers in the PMC.

City Improvement Committee includes Rajesh Barate, Prakash Dhore, Ravindra Dhangekar of MNS; Sunny Nimhan and Sudhir Janjot of Congress; Chetan Tupe, Ranjana Murkute, Usha Kalamkar, Sunil Gogale, Subhash Jagtap of NCP; Medha Kulkarni and Rajendra Shilimkar of BJP.

Of these, Dhore and Nimhan are new faces.

Women and child committee comprise Shanjila Pathare, Suvarna Paigude, Chanchala Kodre, Meenal Saravde, Shivlal Bhosle of NCP; Sushila Netke, Arti Babar, Pushpa Kanojiya of MNS; Manasi Deshpande and Nilima Khade of BJP; Kalpana Thore of Shiv Sena; Sunanda Gadale and Vijaya Wadkar of Congress.

This committee has majority of new faces including Pathare, Kodre, Saravde, Netke, Babar, Kanojiya, Deshpande and Khade.
