DPS classes to resume today in Pune

The Mohammadwadi-based Delhi Public School (DPS) has made temporary arrangement of buses for ferrying students to attend school from September 21.

The school had to suspend classes from nursery to standard III from September 15 following the sudden strike by outsourced transport staff involved in operating buses. It also postponed examinations of higher classes.

In a circular issued on the school website on Tuesday, school principal Neelam Chakrabarty said classes from nursery to standard III would resume on
September 21.

“Classes will be held on all days, including Saturdays,’’ the principal added, stating that the school timings have been changed to 10 am to 3 pm.’’

The standard IV exams, which were postponed, would be held on September 22. The circular also mentioned that they have hired buses from outside to transport students. All buses will have a large yellow sticker, both in the front and at the rear, announcing ‘on DPS duty.’

“We hope to continue with this schedule as well as the arrangement for our students’ commute to and from school, till normalcy is restored,’’ Chakrabarty stated in the
circular.

The principal has appealed to parents, whose wards are users of school transport, not to bring their children in their own vehicles. Such children should commute in hired buses only.

The school management has also stated that in case the buses arrive late while picking up or dropping students, the parents should not panic.
