Maharashtra CM leaves for US to study infrastructure, transport

Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan left for the United States early today to study infrastructure and transport system.

A high-level team of senior officials is accompanying him in the tour aimed at understanding civic planning, low cost housing, development of airports and speedy transportation.
   
Chavan will also visit Singapore and Malaysia to understand the process of desalination of water and mode of transportation there.

State transport minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, chief secretary JP Dange and senior officials were present at the
airport on the occasion.
