Partying in Pune under sanner by cops

The Pune rural police have issued fresh guidelines to hotels and resort owners in the district to curb illegal activities during the conduct of large parties.

According to the Pune rural police, if someone wants to organise a large party, they need to inform the respective police station, giving full information and obtain written permission well in advance.

They would also need to give a list of those attending the party. Permission for use of loudspeakers and attendance by a disk jockey should also be obtained from the police station.

According to the guidelines, the organiser would have to obtain liquor permission from the state excise department if the organiser is charging a cover fee. In this case, the organiser also would have to obtain required permission for the party from the district collector’s office.

The organiser would also have to record the event on video and maintain it. If the party is organised by an educational or management institution or a private company, then a representative of the institution would have to be present at the event.

According to the police, narcotic substances would not be permitted at such events. If anybody is found using such restricted substances, then the person, along with the organiser of the party and the owner of the hotel, resort or farmhouse would be held responsible and legal action would be initiated
against them.
