In order to make the recruitment process more candidate-friendly, the Pune police will, for the first time, use SMS service to inform applicants about procedural details and guidelines. There are more than 40,000 aspirants to 880 posts of constables. The recruitment process will start on November 9 at the police headquarters in Shivajinagar.
There used to be a lot of confusion and commotion during the recruitment drives in the past, with applicants making inquiries and gathering in large numbers at police centres. A senior officer in the city police told DNA, “The SMS service will help avoid confusion.”
“Once a youth applies for the post, he will receive SMSes from the police department, giving information on where and when to
report,” the officer said.
