Three workers were sleeping in the factory when fire broke out in the factory in Baldev chawl at Khotwadi area in the wee hours today, they said.

Four fire engines and two water tankers were rushed to the spot to douse the fire, they added.

"Three workers Ramdev Dhala (22), Pappu Vaidya (22) and Ramesh Kavatra (20) were rushed to nearby hospital with burn injuries. However, they were pronounced dead on arrival by the hospital authority," said Uday Tatkare, chief of Fire brigade.
