Lost your SBI debit card? Here's how you can block the old and get a new one via phone call

State Bank of India (SBI) cardholders can easily block the old card and can get the new one without visiting the bank.

In today's digital world, imagining life without a debit card is impossible. Especially during COVID-19 when we are dependent on online transactions for anything and everything. But what if we misplace or lose our debit card, in such a situation it is necessary to block the card as soon as possible. 

State Bank of India (SBI) cardholders need not worry, they can easily block the old card and can get the new one without visiting the bank.

 

To block your SBI card, you just have to dial the SBI toll-free number. SBI customers can call on toll-free customer care numbers for urgent banking services -- 1800112211 and 18004253800. The customer can then request a new debit card in case the old card has been lost.

 

Recently, informing customers about the same, SBI had tweeted “Stay safe at home, we are there to serve you. SBI provides you a contactless service that will help you with your urgent banking needs. Call our toll free number 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800.”

 

 

Steps to block your SBI card through Net banking:

Step 1: Log in to onlinesbi.com using your username and password.

Step 2: Go to e-Service by clicking on ATM Card Service. After this go to Block ATM Card.

Step 3: Select the account number associated with the lost card.

Step 4: After this, you will see all the active and blocked cards. The first 4 and last 4 digits of the card will be mentioned.

Step 5: Select the card you want to block after verifying all the information.

Step 6: You have to choose one option either OTP or Password.

Step 7: provide OTP and click on ‘submit’.

Step 8: A message will appear with the ticket number. Keep it for future reference.
