China's International Brand Center Appoints Trans Pacific Procurement Exclusive U.S.A. Agent for Wine and Natural Food

YOUNTVILLE, Calif., March 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Trans Pacific Procurement LLC is pleased to announce its appointment by the International Brand Management Center of the China Association of International Trade as a strategic partner for the Center's Global Purchasing Season 2013. This appointment establishes Trans Pacific Procurement as the exclusive United States of America partner for selecting and exporting wines and other natural food products to China to be offered by the International Brand Management Center throughout China.

The International Brand Management Center is an organization launched by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. The Center's mission is to expand imports, introduce brands and promote consumption of high-quality, authentic consumer products throughout China. The International Brand Management Center has established Global Purchasing Centers in major cities throughout China. These centers allow key buyers to select products of guaranteed quality and authenticity and then provide centralized purchasing, distribution and importing for these high-profile accounts in every major market of China.

Trans Pacific Procurement LLC is a company founded by Dr. Michael Dragutsky, founder and Chairman of Cornerstone Cellars and Craig Camp, Managing Partner of Cornerstone Cellars. Cornerstone Cellars is a prestigious producer of fine wines in the Napa Valley and Oregon's Willamette Valley. Founded in 1991 by Dragutsky and his partner Dr. David Sloas, Cornerstone Cellars has established a reputation for excellence in fine wine spanning more than two decades. "We are honored to have been selected to help establish American wines in the Chinese marketplace. This program will let many Chinese consumers experience American wines and other natural food products for the first time and find out for themselves that the United States is a World Class wine producing nation," commented Dragutsky on their appointment.

Trans Pacific Procurement is establishing a Yountville, California office for the International Brand Center, to host Chinese Buyer Groups that the Center will select to visit areas of production for on-site experiences. These groups will include media experts, consultants and key buyers.

Product selection for this program will be led by Camp, a fine wine industry veteran with more than thirty years of experience, from their Yountville offices. "Nothing could be more exciting than the opportunity to select fine American wines for this rapidly emerging wine market. With the support of the International Brand Center we will not only be able to present our selections to China's most influential buyers, but provide them with the information and education required to effectively introduce these brands in China," said Camp.

The official launch of this project will be held in Beijing in early April and will be highlighted by ceremonies that will include John Dunbar, the Mayor of Yountville.

Selections for the spring offering at the International Trade Center, located just outside of Beijing, are now being made by Trans Pacific. The first offering will include wines and olive oils representing a cross section of varieties and price points. "Our first wine selections will include six to eight producers. We expect this to grow significantly as more centers are opened throughout China. My first goal will be to provide a selection with a strong price/quality ratio as other countries have come to China not only with high prices, but at prices well above their normal selling price. It is our goal to be more transparent and ethical in our pricing as the best strategy to build business for the long-term," said Camp.

Producers interested in participating in the program should contact Camp at craig@transpacprocure.com.
