Bernard Auyang, Executive Director and Co-CEO of Touchmedia said at the company’s annual client party, “Frankly we have been surprised by 2012. In a difficult market it has been a record year for Touchmedia. In 2013 we will build on this and are planning explosive growth, with eight new 2nd and 3rd tier cities in the pipeline and a 30 % growth in taxi numbers to over 65,000.”

With the rapid development of the mobile web, integration of Touchmedia’s screens with mobile phones has become a major trend. More than 50% of Touchmedia’s interactive campaigns have some connection to the viewers’ mobile phones, with QR-code applications being the most popular. Touchmedia is developing further systems to directly talk to passengers and track promotions, including the recent launch of an e-Commerce solution enabling purchases right off the screen.

According to insiders’ analysis, Touchmedia’s unique and innovative new functions, together with their ability to engage consumers for long periods when they have nothing to do, usually results in higher levels of awareness, recall and response than with conventional media. For larger brands Touchmedia is a way to more efficiently increase frequency to an up market target and for smaller brands, Touchmedia is a more cost effective alternative to TV.

Ray Lui, famous actor and Honorary Chairman of Touchmedia elaborated, “It is because Touchmedia has such extensive reach and influences so many millions of urban citizens that we feel the responsibility and the importance of making a contribution to society. Campaigns for blood donations, white collar health issues, environmental protection, community service information and helping disadvantaged groups, all of these are areas where we can help to educate and involve the public with our unique interactivity.”

Since Touchmedia launched the “Touch Your Heart - Donate for Love” blood donation drive with the Shanghai Blood Center in September, for example, nearly 30,000 people have made reservations. The campaign has also joined hands with celebrities and employees from public spirited enterprises to donate blood and encourage others to participate.
