52-year-old man held for raping female dog

The Vishrambaug police have arrested a 52-year-old man for allegedly performing unnatural sex with a female dog at his residence at Narayan Peth during the wee hours of Monday.

The arrested person has been identified as Hanumant Datta Mane of Narayan Peth who originally hails from Karnataka. Sandeep Namdev Raut (32) of Raut Wada, Narayan Peth, has filed a complaint with Vishrambagh police station.

According to the police, Mane is working with a local band since 1988 and has been staying alone in a room at Raut Wada.

Speaking to dna, Vishrambaug police station senior inspector Arjun Sakunde said, “Raut and his sister run a vendor stall at Mandai. While leaving the house at Raut Wada, he saw Mane dragging a white female dog inside his house. Out of curiosity, Raut peeped into Mane’s rented room only to find the latter was in a disrobed state and engaging in the inhuman act. Disgusted, Raut informed other residents. We arrested Mane from his residence on Tuesday afternoon after carrying out thorough probe.”

Mane is married and has two sons and three married daughters. His family stays in Karnataka. “We have slapped relevant sections against Mane under IPC, 1860 and Animal Cruelty Act. The female dog has being kept at an animal home in Undri.”
