Youth rapes minor, 17-year-old friend films it

The Loni Kalbhor police on Monday arrested a 21-year-old youth for allegedly raping a minor student and detained his juvenile friend for filming the act on the cellphone in Manjari Budruk.

The incident came to light, when the victim’s mother lodged a case against them.

The police have identified the arrested person as Ashish Rambhau Korde (21), who hails from Beed and is currently residing at Jijamata Vasahat in Pune. The police have also detained a 17-year-old boy for offences under sections of Indian Penal Code comprising rape and an act done by them with common intention and also slapped them under relevant section of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Inspector incharge of Loni Kalbor Suhas Garud said, “The incident took place between November 2012 and January this year. Korde had allegedly lured her to a building saying his sister wanted to meet her. There he raped her after gagging her mouth with a handkerchief. The minor boy filmed the act on his mobile phone. Korde had threatened the victim that he would circulate the video if she revealed the incident to anyone. He again raped her at a lodge in Hadapsar with the same threat.”

He added, “We have seized the cellphone.”
On Tuesday, Judicial Magistrate (First Class) AG Santani remanded Korde in police custody till Saturday.

Assistant public prosecutor Anil Kumbhar said, “Korde had even made her speak to a woman on phone saying she is his sister. His custodial interrogation is required to trace this woman and also find out whether the clip has been circulated.”
