DUBAI: Al Qaeda's deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri called on mujahideen to attack oil sites in Muslim countries, according to an Internet video posted on Wednesday.

“I call on mujahideen to concentrate their attacks on Muslims' stolen oil, from which most of the revenues go to the enemies of Islam while most of what they leave is seized by the thieves who rule our countries,” Zawahri said.

He made the comments in a lengthy interview posted on a web site frequently used by militants to mark the fourth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, although it was not clear when the video was filmed.
