Naxalites attack bus in Orissa; no casualty reported

MALKANGIRI: Passengers of a Bhubaneswar-Motu bus had a miraculous escape from a Naxalite attack on Sunday at Mudliguda in the district.

Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Yatin Koyal said Naxalites attacked the government bus as it approached Mudliguda at about 8.00 in the morning.

Glass panes of the bus were damaged.  However, no passenger was injured.

Police have rushed to the spot and launched a combing operation to nab the ultras. Two landmines were recovered during the search operation, Koyal said.

Nearby police stations had been alerted following the incident, he added.
