NEW DELHI: Indian cricket fans are in for more dissapointment as they would be deprived even of the live commentary of the India-Pakistan Test series after Prasar Bharti failed to reach any agreement with ARY Digital, which holds the worldwide radio rights for the series.

"All India Radio would not be able to bring the live commentary of the India-Pakistan cricket series as no agreement could be reached between Prasar Bharti and ARY digital aven after several rounds of negotiations," a Prasar Bharti release said here on Thursday.

However keeping the interests of listners in mind, AIR has made arrangements to broadcast match updates from time to time on its FM Rainbow, Gold and Primary Channels. It will also broadcast a special analysis programme called Sunehare Pal Test Cricket Ke on these channels, it said.

AIR has secured rights for the 2004 series for $40,000, however, the rights holders are demanding $250,000 for the series this year, which is more than six times the rights fees paid in 2004, it said.
