Jammu bus accident toll climbs to 56

JAMMU: With four more persons succumbing to their injuries on Saturday, the death toll in Friday's bus accident in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir has gone up to 56.

Naseer, Mohammad Bashir and Gulzar Hussain, besides one unidentified person died in the Rajouri hospital here raising the death toll to 56, sources said.

Fifty-two persons were killed and 15 others were injured, six of them critically, when a passenger bus skidded off the road and fell down a deep gorge near Sai Gaji shrine in Rajouri district of the state on Friday.

Five persons - identified as Mohammad Zaman, Gultaz, Tahir Mohmmad, Shahdaz and Abdul Qadir - were undergoing treatment in the hospital, they said.
