Mukta Arts has signed a Rs 17 crore deal with Sony TV for the satellite rights of five films being produced under its banner to be released in 2006-2007.

MUMBAI: Well-known film production house, Mukta Arts has signed a Rs 17 crore deal with Sony Entertainment Television for the satellite rights of five films being produced under the Mukta Arts banner to be released in the financial year 2006-2007, the company said here on Tuesday.
The films under this agreement include "Shadi Se Pahle" by Satish Kaushik, "36 China Town" by Abbas Mastan, "Apna Sapna Money Money" by Sangeeth Sivan, "Good Boy Bad Boy" by Ashwini Chowdhury and "Rain" by Nagesh Kukunoor.
The tie-up excludes Subhash Ghai's next directorial venture and another by Abbas Mastaan which will be launched later this year.
Commenting on the deal, Subhash Ghai, Chairman and Managing Director, Mukta Arts, said "this is for the first time that a production company has sold the satellite rights of their films prior to theatrical release of the films while they are still under production".
