The shocking suicide of TV actor and aspiring film star Kuljeet Randhawa, was apparently under severe mental stress following strained relations with her current boyfriend.

Unlike the feisty Irawati (the character she essayed in ‘Kohinoor’ on Sahara One), Kuljeet could not handle the situation created by the rude jibes of her man, who is playing an important character in the Star One series ‘Special Squad’.

A senior exceutive producer of the production house that mounted the thriller series Kohinoor, said on the condition of anonymity, that Kuljeet had spoken to him earlier in the night and confided that her boyfriend was suspicious about her.

He had in fact asked her to make a list of her ex-boyfriends in writing. The source confesses that he had dismissed the incident as a lover’s tiff, but it seems the fragile girl could not bear the insult heaped on her by the man she loved the most.

According to close friends and associates, Kuljeet depended on her boyfriend completely after her affair with Sandy Deol (an aspiring director) ended on a sordid note. She was living all by herself in Mumbai as her parents stayed in Delhi. Moreover, she was not too happy with the way her career was shaping up. The show she pinned her hopes on had bombed and even the film which she had just completed shooting for did not shape up the way she had envisaged.

It is indeed ironic that Nafisa Joseph, who ended her life in a similar manner last year, had been one of her closest friends.

Friends aver that of late, Kuljeet was turning manic depressive — though surprisingly,  she herself was a psychology graduate and was always helping other friends resolve their personal crises.
