Upbeat about playing Monty in ‘Churaa Liya’, actor Rajeev Khandelwal clears a lot of misconceptions

After enjoying popularity as Sujal in ‘Kahiin To Hoga’, actor Rajeev Khandelwal went through a career lull. But the heartthrob is back in producer-director Ratnasurya Sinha’s (wife of director Anubhav Sinha) forthcoming show, ‘Churaa Liya’. His character Monty is that of a conman opposite Sandali Sinha (of film ‘Tum Bin’ fame).
Rubbishing all speculations of his entry into Bollywood Rajeev says, “As of now I have not signed any Hindi movie. The announcement was misleading. Unless I am excited about the script, my role and the director, I will not grab any film blindly.”
Another issue he feels sore about is the allegation that he was chucked out of the Balaji camp. He clarifies, “I amicably stepped out of ‘Kahiin To Hoga’. Sujal’s character had a graceful exit. I was not ‘thrown out’ as is rumoured!”
Didn’t he fear losing out on his fans after he stopped playing the popular character? Rajeev states confidently, “My loyal fans are my morale boosters. They have loved me in ‘Time Bomb’ and ‘CID’.
