I did taste white stuff at Rahul's home: Sahil

SRINAGAR: After turning himself in, Sahil, one of the four persons who attended a late-night party at  late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's residence in Delhi, on Saturday denied he had any role in the mystery death of Vivek Moitra and the illness of Rahul Mahajan.

After being elusive for almost a day since the incident took place in the national capital, Sahil, who was subsequently detained, told a TV channel that he tasted "some white powder" at the Mahajan residence, but claimed he did not know what it was.

Describing himself as a victim of an accident which happened during his meeting with Rahul and Moitra, whom he claimed he knew, Sahil said: "There is no conspiracy as it has been made out to be. I was also in a bad condition and was puking all the day and even didn't know who was driving me where."

Terming reports of his being the one who supplied drugs to Moitra, secretary of late Pramod Mahajan, and Rahul as "wrong and false", the 21-year-old Kashmiri youth claimed Moitra's death was result of an accident.

"You just go to meet someone and an accident happens," he said and claimed that Moitra had invited him to Rahul's house.

Questioning the medical reports of Moitra, Sahil said he wondered why doctors have denied that there was any toxic substance in the body and suggested he was poisoned.

"What are they (doctors) trying to say? That I am the one who has poisoned him," he said.

Meanwhile, a special team of Delhi Police arrived here and he may be taken to Delhi on Sunday, official sources said.
