LONDON/JAIPUR: Liz Hurley's much talked about wedding to Indian businessman Arun Nayar Saturday has already run into controversy with police imposing massive traffic restrictions in the small town of Cotswold.

Chairperson of the town council Tim Petchey described four days of traffic restrictions starting Saturday as an "imposition".

Dozens of celebrities are expected to attend the wedding, including Sir Elton John, Kate Moss and David Beckham, according to the Daily Mail.

"The community has not been properly consulted about the plans," an upset Petchey said.

Residents of the town have been told they cannot park outside their homes from today until Sunday afternoon except to unload shopping or passengers.

"There has been little prior warning and no consultation with the town. It's a bit of an imposition and I think it's been badly handled," Petchey added.

But the local police is not taking any chances.

"There will be police staff on duty to enforce the restrictions and where necessary a tow-away policy will operate in order to prevent any obstructions to the highway and allow free passage," a police spokesperson said.

After their wedding, the couple is expected to fly to India for their post wedding celebrations.

According to informed sources, three days of parties are scheduled at various lavish venues in Rajasthan. The magnificent Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur town has already booked the hotel from March 8 to 10, hotel sources said.

The Umaid Bhawan Palace, completed in the early 1940's, has 98 rooms and is considered one of the most beautiful hotels in Rajasthan. The opulent palace, part of which is still the home of the erstwhile Jodhpur royal family, is set in 26 acres.
