Partnerships to offer IT and remote network management services
MUMBAI: Flag Telecom Group Ltd, a London-based subsidiary of Anil Ambani promoted Reliance Communications (RCom), is close to forging a few partnerships for offering remote network management and IT services.
An official announcement on the partnerships is expected early next year, company sources said.
The company will initially target multinationals and IT companies for its remote network management and IT services and later approach global telecom operators.
RCom has over 500 trained technical staff in network management operations.
Notably, Flag recently entered into a three-year bilateral agreement with GlassHouse Technologies to jointly provide remotely managed storage services and develop new storage products. The engagement is worth $15-20 million, sources said.
Jarrett Appleby, chief strategy and marketing officer, Flag Telecom told DNA Money, “There is a huge untapped market and Flag is going to tap the $30 billion global opportunity in managed IT services.”
Brian Ritchie, senior vice-president partners, Glasshouse, said Flag and Glasshouse will focus on New York, London and Mumbai to provide global services as these markets have enough potential for data storage services. Meanwhile, RCom plans to unlock the value of its investment in Flag telecom by the end of current fiscal through a listing on London’s AIM.
