If sources are to be believed, then the film Singularity — that boasted of bringing Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Brendan Fraser in the same frame — is not taking off.
It was reported early last year Aishwarya was teaming up with Brendan for the historical epic that would be shot in India and South Africa. The filming was supposed to begin in January.

“Aishwarya was in talks with the filmmakers for quite some time. She was very interested about the project. She has not been approached for a long time now and she is busy with the Rajnikanth, Mani Ratnam projects. She is certainly not doing this film as of today,” says a source.

We asked Aishwarya’s manager Hari Singh about it but he claimed that he is not in the loop about the fate of the film. Singularity has been a much-delayed project as it was first reported in the late 1990s that the film was being made. The film’s budget was reported to be $35 million (Rs 165 crore)  and it was supposed to narrate the adventures of its lead pair as they travel over two continents and even through time. The film’s plot was supposed to revolve around a British officer in colonial India who was in love with an Indian girl. The film was supposed to directed by Roland Joffé, who had earlier directed City of Joy.
