Innovators to deliberate in Ahmedabad in Gujarat

Innovators to deliberate in Ahmedabad in Gujarat

Gujarat Innovation Society (GIS) will provide a platform to innovators to interact at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) on Saturday, an event organised to mark the society's first foundation day. It was founded by around 300 citizens and innovators as its members on April 15 last year with an aim to promote and inculcate the culture of innovation in daily lives.

Ajay Nanavati, managing director of 3M India, will be the keynote speaker, while health minister Jaynarayan Vyas will be the chief guest. Eminent personalities of the city, academicians, scientists, industrialists and officials and members of different institutes are expected to attend the function.

All Gujarat Innovation Society (GIS) is registered under Indian Trust Act, 1882. It is constantly working towards developing and providing facilities to create a favourable environment of innovative thinking amongst the mind of the youth of state of Gujarat initially and explore it to the world at large, said chairman of GIS, Sunil Shah.

The organisation has been supported by 20 top institutes such as Ahmedabad Management Association, All India Management Association, ISRO, ASSOCHAM, CII, GCCI, GICEA and GITCO, to name a few. Shah said that GIS is basically focused towards Innovators, Innovation and developing Innovative culture in Industry so that day to day activities and problems could be solved out in some Innovative way. 

To achieve its first motive, it has worked upon creating awareness on "Importance of Innovation" in daily life.  "GIS, since its inception, has made a voluntary Self Oath Form. "We became a leading innovation oath taker Institute having more than 2,000 oaths, and this milestone was achieved at the chief minister's initiative of iCreate Launch which was guided by NR Narayan Murthy as chief advisor," said Shah.

GIS looks forward to encouraging central and state governments, universities and R&D institutions, public service delivery systems to innovate and facilitate innovations by SMEs, institutions & professionals etc.
