FIFA World Cup 2014 Match Preview: Germany v/s USA

Joachim Löw's Germany take on Jürgen Klinsmann's United States in their final Group G match. Germany and USA require just a single point to secure a Round-of-16 spot, as both the teams are equal in terms of points, with four points each. This match is surely going to be worth watching as both the teams have played well in their previous two group matches. Germany were off to a flying start as they thumped Cristiano Ronaldo' Portugal 4-0, with Thomas Muller scoring a hat-trick. USA also registered a victory to their name as they defeated Ghana 2-1, thanks to the late winner scored by John Brooks Jr. But despite winning their respective opening group matches, both Germany and USA were held to 2-2 draws respectively.

Germany were held by Ghana in a 2-2 draw. This match was a historic match as German veteran Miroslav Klose equaled Luis Ronaldo's record of 15 World Cup  goals. USA played a struggling Portugal side in their second group match. This match also ended in a 2-2 draw. It was an entertaining match as Portugal equalized the score in the dying stages of the match as Silvestre Varela scored off Ronaldo's cross.Germany and USA have faced each other nine times, with the Germans winning six. USA have failed to win against Germany in a World Cup match. Though a draw is enough, both teams will aim for the top spot of the Group G.
