Froch to fight Kessler in Denmark in April

Britain's World Boxing Council super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch will fight World Boxing Association champion Mikkel Kessler in Denmark on April 17 as part of the ''Super Six'' round-robin competition.

"It's an incredible fight between two of the world's best and most exciting fighters," Froch's promoter Mick Hennessy said on Tuesday.

"Carl proved with that sensational KO over Jermain Taylor that he can go into the lions' den and beat the very best in the world, and I've no doubt he'll prove that again against Kessler."

The Super Six World Boxing Classic brings together six of the best super middleweights in a series of bouts running through to early 2011.

Froch, 32, beat Canadian Jean Pascal for the vacant WBC title in December last year and defended it against Americans Jermain Taylor in April and Andre Dirrell on a split decision in October.
