Lalit Modi will not seek anticipatory bail, said a member of his camp. Instead, the Modi camp will retaliate by giving a fitting reply to every case filed against him. Modi is currently in South Africa.

“At this stage, there is no FIR yet. So there is no question of bail but whenever they file an FIR, we will give a fitting reply,” said a member of the Modi camp, stating that the suspended chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has nothing to fear or worry.

He termed the decisions taken by the authorities of the Board of Control for Cricket  in India (BCCI) a joke.

“On one hand, the BCCI president (Shashank Manohar) recuses himself from the disciplinary committee. On the other, he takes it upon himself to take appropriate action against Modi,” he added.

He also said the BCCI has pre-concluded the decision of the disciplinary committee. He pointed out that while the BCCI has referred Modi’s replies to the disciplinary committee, it has unilaterally terminated the contract of WSG on charges of facilitation fee.

If the disciplinary committee were to exonerate Modi, the BCCI faces the danger of facing a case from the company.
