Lionel Messi urges Cesc Fabregas to join him in Barcelona

Barcelona striker Lionel Messi has urged Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas to join him at the Nou Camp.

Messi is the latest Barcelona star to call on Fabregas to leave Arsenal, following similar pleas made by Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique and Xavi earlier this week.

“I would be delighted if he came. We played together as kids in Barca’s youth team and he knows the club,” The Sun quoted Messi, as saying. 

Barcelona’s top brass has claimed that Arsenal is willing to sell Fabregas for £50 million.

The Spanish giants are not prepared to make an offer, but the fact that Arsenal has named a price suggests that there is scope for negotiation.

Barcelona has already signed Spanish striker David Villa, and Messi believes that he will be a big hit.

“David will be really good for us. He has already shown what he can do at Valencia and in the Spanish national team,” Messi said.

“Let’s hope we can be together soon to start preparing for the new season,” he added.
