Michael Clarke ready to chip in with some spin in Sydney

Australian captain, Michael Clarke is ready to bowl a few overs  against India in the Sydney Test, since he is convinced that spin is going to play a major part during the match. The last time when India played in Sydney, in the year 2008, they were handed a stunning defeat in the dying overs of the final day after Clarke claimed three Indian wickets in five balls.

Clarke hasn't been able to bowl much in last few years due to chronic back problems, having bowled just a combined total of 15 over during the last year, The Herald Sun reports. "We'll wait and see how the wicket deteriorates as well and if required I would be more than happy to bowl, I've always enjoyed bowling," said Clarke.

Clarke also backed the selection of spinner Nathan Lyon over paceman Ryan Harris and said that Lyon was bound to play a big role against India at Sydney. "I haven't done much of it in recent times but that's because our bowlers have done their job so if required and if the wicket does spin Nathan Lyon will play a big part and I can bowl a few overs for sure," he adds.

Australia has named an unchanged team for the second test match against India in Sydney after they thrashed the tourists in Melbourne by 122 runs.

Meanwhile SCG curator Tom Parker has denied allegations from the Indian media that the Aussies are deliberately making a pitch that will suit their pace bowlers.

Parker reiterated that spin would play a pivotal role during the five days of the Test match.
