Basketball lovers are in for a treat from February 21-28 as India’s finest cagers will vie for top honours in the 26th edition of the All-India Ramu Memorial basketball tournament at the Indian Gymkhana, Matunga.

This event, sponsored by United Phosphorous, will see eight men’s teams including Indian Overseas Bank from Chennai that includes star player Robinson and Army that has crowd puller Sambaji Kadam. The men’s teams will be divided into two groups with the four teams playing a round robin league and the top two qualifying for the semifinals.

There will be four women’s teams competing with the Aamchi Mumbai and Karnataka state teams being the new entrants. The Aamchi Mumbai team will consist of players from Mumbai, Thane and the Railways.

Making their debut in this edition from the men’s draw will be RCF Kapurthala who are being coached by Ram Kumar. Punjab, who last participated in 2006, will be back in action.
