Quantum Break(s) into a new dimension of gaming

Quantum Break is a single player experience that puts you in the shoes of Jack Joyce, who gains the ability to manipulate time after a time travel experiment goes wrong. However, Jack is not the only one who has gained extraordinary abilities as a result of the failed experiment. Paul Serene, who also used to be Jack's best friend also gains the ability. He is the mastermind behind the Monarch Corporation and naturally does not plan on using his new abilities to make the world a better place. Since the story is the best part of the game, giving any more details would take away from the experience and if you are a person that enjoys good stories as much as I do, you would not want the story spoiled for you.

Not only is the story great, the gameplay is also a lot of fun. I enjoyed my time freezing time and taking out my enemies by stopping their bullets mid air. The cover system isn't particularly great but I look at that as a motivation to not camp out in one place. The game also lets you make decisions as the antagonist at certain points in the game known as junction points, these decisions make the gameplay a lot more interesting while also adding replayability.

Quantum Break is a game that proves that the marriage between live-action video and gaming can be successful. This production quality of these live-action videos is top notch and on par with what you get in a television show.

The live-action video series also brings in some great actors that are well known in the television world, such as Game of Thrones' Aidan Gillen and Fringe's Lance Reddick.

As a result of this type of storytelling, Quantum Break is an extremely content heavy game. The game itself takes up 45GB of space and you need an additional 75GB for the live-action videos. Even if you buy the game on disc, you do not get the video on an additional disc and you have to download it just like the people who bought the game digitally. For Indian gamers, downloading 75 GB or 120 GB is no trivial task thanks to poor Internet speeds and low download limits. This alone may make the game unviable for certain gamers as even though you can theoretically play the game without watching the live-action videos, you would be missing out on the story which is the main attraction of the game.

Quantum Break is a story-driven game at its core, giving gamers looking for single player experiences a real treat. The story is carefully woven into every aspect of the game and the effort has really paid off. The game comes with the full game download of Alan Wake, the Xbox 360 game playable on Xbox One, as well as The Signal and The Writer add-ons adding more value to an already great experience making this game hard not to recommend if you have the Internet for it.
