Popular television actor Sidharth Shukla of 'Balika Vadhu' fame met with a road accident on Saturday around 6:30 pm near Shreeji restaurant junction in Oshiwara, Andheri (West), Mumbai.
Sidharth was coming from Goregaon side when a cyclist suddenly came in front of his car. In a bid to save him, the actor took a sharp turn and consequently hit three cars parked by the road with his BMW X 5 SUV. Because of the car's speed being high, Sidharth lost his control over the wheels and rammed his car onto the divider. The incident took place near Shreeji restaurant, which is just a few minutes away from Oshiwara police station.
The hit was so bad that the car's tyre immediately burst. "I was in the building next to it, there was a loud blast..people inside the building thought it was a cylinder blast at shreeji restaurant , but then saw the accident on road..don't know who was at fault but the red car was on the wrong side of the road..," a spectator present at the spot tweeted.
"Yes, it's second major accident in this year. It's the back road of lokhandwala which is straight and deserted and then there is a curve towards lokhandwala circle, lot of people they are invincible and the turn at high speed resulting in accidents," another localite pointed out on the micro-blogging site.
The car's doors had got locked because of which Sidharth got trapped inside the SUV. People, however, were quick to react as they rescued him by breaking the rear glass of the car.

The actor was arrested at the spot
Sidharth and one other person got slightly hurt but thankfully no major injuries were recorded. The actor was arrested from the spot and taken for medical checkup. He, however, got a bail the same night.
A case of rash driving has been filed against Sidharth under section 336,337,279,427 and 184. It still remains to be seen whether the actor was inebriated or not. Police awaits his medical reports.
