David Coleman Headley's interrogation hinted terrorists linkage

In an apparent reference to Pakistan, India today said that Pakistani American David Coleman Headley's interrogation had hinted at nexus between terrorists and the establishment which was difficult to deal with.

National security advisor Shivshankar Menon said following Headley's interrogation, India now has a "much clearer picture" of the infrastructure of terrorism and its support systems in that country.

"I think we also know who is responsible for terrorism. What has happened is we have a much clearer picture today of the infrastructure of terrorism, of the ecosystem, of the support system of terrorism," Menon said addressing a seminar here.

He said the interrogation of the key accused in Mumbai blast case David Coleman Headley brought to the fore the linkages between the official establishment and intelligence agencies with the terror groups.

"For us, most recently what we learnt from Headley it is really the links between official establishment and intelligence agencies, (it) is the nexus which (is) making it much harder to deal with," he said.

He said the information gathered suggests that this nexus will not go away but get stronger in the future.
