Following to the incidents of breakout of violence on Tuesday evening, the Gujarat government has taken the measures to control the law and order situation across the state. The police has requisited more than 873 vehicles for the police patroling across the state and the patroling will be intensive in highly affected areas like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and North Gujarat. The police has arrested 118 people for violent protest and damaging properties.
The minister of state for home in Gujarat government Pradipsinh Jadeja, additional chief secretary of home department MS Dagur and the director general of police(DGP) in state Pramod Kumar addressed a press conference on Wednesday evening on the issue.
Addressing the media persons, DGP Kumar said, “We have requested 624 additional vehicles for patrolling and including those, total 873 vehicles will be deployed for surveillance in different areas which are affected.”
