Two people died of heat stroke in the city last week, taking the total number of heat-related deaths this season to three.
"When heat exhaustion is not addressed, heat stroke can follow. Untreated heat stroke cases lead to death. Although there were no heat wave conditions, prolonged heat exposure results in heat exhaustion," said Dr Bhavin Solanki, in-charge medical officer of health, AMC.
Malaria and dengue on the rise: At a time when the civic body and the state government have intensified their efforts to rid the city of malaria, the disease appears to be on the rise with 99 cases reported in just the last week.
