Battered roads, unseasonal cave-ins are common hazards associated with roads Behrampura locality near to Khodiyarnagar.

Since January around two kilometres of the road stretch has witnessed eight cave-ins and Friday reported one more incident.

"The road next to the BRTS lane is in bad condition. Cave-in incidents are reported every 15 days," said Badruddin Shaikh, former leader of the Opposition, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

"The stretch of Khodiyarnagar crossroad was repaired just five days back. The civic body has been carrying out repair work on that stretch for more than a year now, but it doesn't seem to end," he added.

Due to a major cave-in last year, the route is non-operational.

"The BRTS line is non-functional because of a cave-in which was reported last year. And since January this stretch has witnessed nine cave-ins. The cave-ins are the result of corruption by the civic officials and ruling party BJP," added Shaikh.

He further said that such instances of cave-in are highly dangerous with monsoon season approaching.

"This causes traffic jams and accidents. We want immediate action from the civic body and solution to this problem," he added.
