Air Marshal BR Krishna takes over as SWAC SASO
Air Marshal Krishna has more than 4,800 hours of flying experience on a variety of operational and training aircraft.
Air Marshal BR Krishna took over as Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) of South Western Air Command (SWAC) on Friday, an official release said.
Commissioned into the fighter stream of Indian Air Force (IAF) in December 1983, Air Marshal Krishna has more than 4,800 hours of flying experience on a variety of operational and training aircraft.
"He has tenanted various command and staff appointments including command of a front-line air force station, commanding officer of Air Force Test Pilots School and Commandant, ASTE. His staff appointments include joint director, ASR Director, Ops (Off) Weapons and ACAS (Projects)," it said further.
The release also said that he is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and did M Phil in Security studies from National Defence College. He is a recipient of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Shaurya Chakra, it added.
