AMC to redevelop three roads on the lines of CG Road

The Road and Building Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sanctioned to redevelop three roads in the lines of CG Road at the cost of Rs22.70 crore. The three road – Pakwan cross roads to Keshwbag party plot (2.3 km), Judges bungalow to NFD circle (850 meter) and Sanjivani hospital to Gurudwara (1.4 km) which all have 30 meters of width.

Giving the details about the redevelopment, chairman of the committee, Ramesh Desai said, “We are going to develop them as CG Road. There will be some additional features like exclusive cycle track. There will be footpath for the pedestrian, cycle track for the cyclists and on street parking.”

“In all the proposed roads, there will be 2.40 meter’s on street parking along with sitting arrangement and lighting system, 2 meter cycle track and 1.80 meter footpath has been sanctioned,” added the chairman.

There will be heavy plantation of each side of the roads and fund allocation has been shown as Rs 85 lakh. “All the three roads will be developed as the model roads. The on street parking have been designed in a way that from the road side one can park the vehicle. The same concept has been designed for the CG Road redevelopment,” added Desai.
