National BJP chief Amit Shah gave the poll mantra to his colleagues in Gujarat to nullify Patel agitation and anti-incumbency factor.
Shah arrived in the afternoon and directly reached BJP's state headquarters Shri Kamalam. He held meetings with state office bearers of BJP and guided leaders on the Gujarat polls. Shah will stay in Gujarat for two more days and hold meetings with workers and leaders in different layers.
A senior BJP leader said, "In the meeting, the leaders had showed concern on the ongoing Patel agitation in the state and the anti-incumbency factor prevailing against the BJP-led government. He advised that we should not be worried about the campaign against BJP and to work on the positive sides of government propagating the same among masses. He also advised that BJP should not focus over the negative campaign or stay away from making negative remarks on opposition leaders."
"The BJP's face will be Narendra Modi. On Shah's advice, BJP has started the campaign thanking PM Modi for different initiatives for Gujarat. The banners and posters have been prepared for campaign in all areas," added the leader.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's visit and the issues he raised were also discussed in the meeting. Shah sought the reviews from BJP leaders from Saurashtra region and tried to know about response from public to Rahul Gandhi's yatra.
Meanwhile, Gujarat BJP chief Jitu Vaghani welcomed the state government's initiative to offer a commission for non-reserved category communities. He said, "The Gujarat government's announcement to form the commission is the effort to bring inclusive development among all the communities. There are several elements which have been trying to disturb such efforts but Congress has been exposed. Those who were shouting slogans against government were the people backed by Congress."
Vaghani, earlier was to remain present in the meeting of truce talk between Gujarat government and PAAS but Hardik Patel demanded that he should not be there. Eventually Vaghani did not attend the meeting.
