In a major relief for Ahmedabad International School (AIS), the Supreme Court on Friday stayed the order of the Gujarat High Court passed on May 7 by which the latter had directed the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to take back the possession of a land situated in Bodakdev, which was given to the school.Notably, the school administration had approached the apex court against the high court's order, in which the school was also directed to inform parents of children studying there that it does not have a playground and parking facility. The high court's direction came from the division bench of Acting Chief Justice AS Dave and Justice Biren Vaishnav in a public interest litigation (PIL) questioning the allotment of land to the school by AUDA, which was originally meant for a public garden.
